Heli ski Chile Our guides are well-trained in avalanche hazard evaluation and control, route selection, weather analysis, emergency first aid, mountain survival, rescue, and ski instruction techniques. Radio repeaters give us voice communication throughout the heliski area. Snowpack and weather are analyzed daily, and forecasts are made accordingly, with slope assessment conducted prior to skiing.
Andes Heliboarding uses the following helicopters-Ecureuil AS 350 B3 and Bell 407. All of our pilots are highly experienced in high mountain flying conditions and were all trained by the Chilean Air Force. They have thousands of hours of light experience.
In the field, all our guests are equipped with an ABS airbag pack (bag pack free ride) with an avalanche transceiver, shovel, and probes and you will receive a comprehensive safety briefing on the use of this equipment before skiing. Before leaving the DZ, your guide and pilot will also brief you on safety in and around the helicopter.
For safety reasons, due to weather, heliski days end at 15:00.
